GONE TOO SOON: Mourning the Loss of lives that ended too soon.
Heath Ledger: 1979-2008
Brad Renfrew: 1982-2008
Police released a statement saying they found a rolled up $20 bill and 6 different medications that treat anxiety.
All of the drugs were prescribed to Ledger.
Jake Gyllenhaal has yet to be seen or heard from since the death of his close friend, Heath Ledger — and people on the set of his new film are working hard to keep it that way.
Gyllenhaal is in New Mexico, currently filming his new movie, "Brothers." We’re told there are no plans to shut down production, but Jake is very upset and doesn’t want to talk to the media — so the set has been closed to non-crew members and extra security has been hired.
Jake is the godfather to Heath’s daughter, Matilda Rose.
Drug addiction has taken the lives of two actors this past week, Heath Ledger, 28 yrs old who apparently died from overdosing on sleeping pills (known for his Oscar nomination performance in ‘Brokeback Mountain’) and another actor Brad Renfrew at the age of 25. Two examples of what addiction does to life, gone in the matter of minutes or seconds.
They could of be saved, if there was an intervention.
I am certain that if I hadn’t gone to rehab I would be on the same path, the path of living a self-destructive behaviour of drugs and alcohol addiction and like these two actors, I wouldn’t be live today to tell my story. Unlike those well-knowns who enter rehab for a few days or a month, a drug addict/alcoholic cannot curb the addiction without a rigerous and structured rehabiliation program, it takes much longer to combat the disease, something also known as conditional therapy. Alcoholics/Narcotics Anonymous meetings and alike are only good for continued support, however not there there to stop the behaviour altogether and have a less than %10 success rate. I’ve been extremely lucky, not everyone who walks out of an intensive rehab facility is able to stop altogether.
I say this with all my heart, it’s very sad to see/hear people die from addictions, because once someone starts it’s very very difficult to stop, and these two actors could of been saved if they sought help, they were so young, they had a full life ahead of them and the addictions killed them.
The death of the two young actors this past week alone shows how important it is for you or the person you may know to get the help they need, if you or the person you know doesn’t get the help, you or they they will be gone within an instant. The person with the addiction rarely if at all think they have a problem, I know this, because I lived that fairytale. If you or if you know someone who has the addiction get them help.
All of us have natural chemicals that the body produces to create the feeling of happiness in the brain. Heavy drugs like cocaine, meth and heroin change these normal processes of happiness and once gone, heavy depression sets in. This causes the user to use again and again, but the user needs to take more of the drug to get high as the body is saturated with drugs.
Harmful toxins, like drugs, are stored in the fatty tissue of the body as a method of getting the drugs out of the blood stream. These stored toxins can reside in the tissue for long periods of time, even as long as 6-7 years. The problem with this is that after an addict makes an effort to stop taking the drugs, the toxins are released into the blood stream creating cravings, depression or even drug experiences. An addict enrolled in this style of drug rehab program is called a student as they study courses to restore social skills, gain insight into addiction and regain the ability to be a productive member of the community.
These drug rehab programs use social educational classes to restore or build life skills to make the individual a healthy and productive member of society. The Drug Rehab Program using this method has a success rate of over 80%.
