Shameless

Shameless… Ladies and Gentle’s. I was sitting in front of my LCD TV watching some morning TV before jetting out and I was just baffled by our Canadian Cheapass TalkShow.  For those tourists who come across these cheapass Canadian made shows, they must think Canada is some poor, cheapass country. Now, don’t get me wrong I think the host of the show, Marilyn Denis is great! And I am sure she suffers enough with having to deal with the embarassment. On occassion as part of the show they recommend products, for example, powerful shower heads and glamourous plungers and at the end, she shamelessly announces that one, that’s right folks, just ONE lucky studio audience member will be chosen in a draw to win the fabulous dollar store merchandise.

Meanwhile now, they have high class, expensive and elegant decoration make over’s on the show, but when they advertise the products, the sponsor could go an extra mile and give the entire audience the products which this show advertises, don’t ya think? And I would guess there are only 25-30 people in the studio audience.

But wait a second!  On occassion, the show has given away a $100 Gift Certificate!! TO ONE LUCKY AUDIENCE MEMBER. I almost fell of the chair when I saw something to grand!!! I was flabbergasted  , I thought I was watching Oprah?? Oprah is known to give away big prizes like that…I apologize, I was reminded by someone…I am mistaken… I forgot to add a few zero’s in the $100. Oprah doesn’t give away $100, but rather $1,000,000,00!!

This ain’t Oprah. I’ve realized that.

Ladies and Gent’s, I am not saying we gotta be like Oprah or Ellen Degeneres..and I know our population and demographics is nothing compared to that of the USA but honestly, let’s try to go a bit bigger than cheesy gifts and shamelessly give away glamorous plungers,  extravgant cheese graters or %100 cotton socks on some daytime TV show. THIS IS CANADA!! We need to catch up!

Spekaing of which, on a more serious and poltical note, bigger and better things may come our way as Canda’s population grows. I recently read that last year Immigration Canada riases the limit of immigrants allowed in our country to 429,000 (251,000 of which were permenant residents and the rest are foreign students and temporary workers), the highest since 1911. It’s the governments way of doing some damage control since news broke out on how long people are waiting for their papers to be processed.

Sources say, immigration applications take as long as 3-6 years to even be looked at. Why the back log? But however, they’re introducing a new immigration category "The Canadian Experience Class’ for highly skilled workers and foreign students, they would be allowed to remain in Canada while waiting for their application to be processed.

Another thing mentioned is that, Canada has all time low birth rate… blame the gays! LOL…I was born in Toronto and  I am considered a minority, as most of Canada’s population are immigrants.

But that’s ok, my parents were immigrants to Canada in 1971.

What did I say?  It has been reported that David Henandez is already getting music offers. I’ve read an excerpt from an MTV interview he done today and he’s the man!! He’s got the brains. I find it interesting he’s staying away from the gay stereotypes when asked who are his influences. Is Alecia Keys a gay icon?

Has anyone seen the pics of Donald Trump’s infant he produced with that freeloading model? Its hard to look at the kid think some old man produced that, I’ll try to get a pic and post it. It’s freaky, not the kid.  Trump loves to leave a mark wherever he goes. Good for him.
