Looks like the Peacock Network could be getting a little Rosie.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Rosie O’Donnell is in talks with NBC to return to television with her own weekly prime-time variety show.

The funny lady has done the daytime talk show thing before with The Rosie O’Donnell Show but was most recently seen as a co-host on The View. That, as we know, ended awkwardly.

This deal could benefit both the network and O’Donnell. There are many late-night changes ahead for NBC as Jay Leno exits The Tonight Show in 2009, and this new television platform could do wonders for O’Donnell’s career.

The pair worked well together before: NBC broadcast O’Donnell’s daytime talk show from 1996-2002, scoring big in the ratings.

The network has been flirting with the idea of bringing O’Donnell back for a while. Less than a year ago, MSNBC, the network’s cable arm, was close to giving her a one-hour showcase. But that fell through.

Now she has another chance.
