Statement on Gossip

Note: This statement has nothing to do with me, it’s just a statement about gossip.

We all love to hear some dirt on someone we don’t like, sometimes on someone we do like.

Face it, bad news on someone else makes you feel somewhere between lucky and superior. But who is more bad? person telling or hearing the gossip? The answer is….both.

The easiest way to know when something is bad is to enter yourself on the category of the topic of the gossip. Now you know its bad. Gossiping may make you seem popular for the moment because everyone is hanging onto your every word. But on the long run those who heard you say the gossip will think less of you and wonder when you’re gonna turn on them.

Sometimes we wonder if we should confront or snitch on someone based the gossip. Whenever you think to cause any pain or destruction, you better have your fact ducks in order.

Do you really want someone pull the plug on your life based on hearsay? I don’t think so.

Even if it’s true, its just part of the story. You don’t know what’s changed since the story was found out and then communicated as gossip.

People who have for example had temporary losses of character may have experienced huge remorse and regret and may be working hard to repair their damage and their lives.

For you to drop bombs of the past when it is indeed being repaired is unnecessary destruction to the lives of many involved.

Caution, Caution, Caution.
